Tuberculous spondylodiskitis is a violation of the intervertebral disc to tuberculosis. This is a rare
condition.Aims: of this study is to analyse the clinical profile, the contribution of radiological
assessment in the positive diagnosis of evil Pott, and bring different means of confirmation,
treatment and evolution of our patients. Methods: It is a study descriptive retrospective from
January 2000 to June 2015, we collected 23 observations of evil Pott in the department of
pneumology at hospital 20 August from Casablanca. Results: The warning signs are dominated by
spinal and chest pain. Eight patients had neurological signs. The diagnosis was made by the
detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis on direct examination and culture in the paravertbral
abscess in 7 (3%), by histological examination of discovertebral biopsy in 6 cases (2.6%), biopsy
another website tuberculosis in 2 cases and in front of a beam of radio-clinical arguments with
good evolution under anti bacillary treatment in 8 cases (3.4%). Surgical drainage was associated
in 5 cases (2%). The evolution was good in all cases. Conclusion: The diagnosis of Tuberculous
spondylodiskitis may be delayed in the absence of neurological signs, spinal imaging may allow
early diagnosis since the introduction of MRI. The prognosis is good when the treatment is early.

Macrophage activation syndrome (SAM) is a rare but life-threatening disease. It is characterized by
a set of non-specific clinical and biological signs, but the combination of which must evoke the
diagnosis. These abnormalities result from cytokine dysregulation and benign lympho-histiocytoma.
Among several etiologies, viral infection holds an important place. This is the case of our patient
who was admitted for viral encephalitis following which he developed the SAM.

Adrenal pseudocysts are rare cystic masses that arise from the adrenal gland and which are
usuallynon-functional and asymptomatic. Adrenal pseudocysts consist of a fibrous wall without an
epithelial or endotheliallining. We report a case of a young woman with a voluminous abdominal
mass revealed by a left hypochondrium pain. Histological examination revealed an adrenal
pseudocyst. Surgery is required for symptomatic cases in order to relieve the symptoms and in cases
	of uncertain diagnosis.

Introduction: Several observations of thyroid disorders in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) have
been reported in the literature. The aim of our study was to evaluate the prevalence of thyroid
dysfunction in a group of Moroccan patients followed for IBD. Materials and methods: Descriptive
study of 78 patients followed for IBD during a period of 6 month. The study included the following
clinical parameters (age, gender, associated diseases, type and status of IBD, examination of the
thyroid), biological (erythrocyte sedimentation rate, TSH, T4, T3 free, anti-peroxidase and antireceptors
TSH) and therapeutic (type and dosage of treatment followed). A Neck ultrasound was
indicated, when abnormalities was on physical examination. A descriptive bi-variate analysis with
khi2 test was performed. Results: The mean age of patients was 33 +/- 1.4 years with 62% female.
Thyroid disorders were found in 36.5% of cases with low T3 syndrome in 62% of these patients. The
dysfunction of thyroid was significantly associated with female gender; thrust IBD, the presence of
anti-thyroid antibodies and biotherapy. Moreover, no significant difference was found between
groups crohn and ulcerative colitis. Neck ultrasound had found the thyroid nodules in 80.5% of
cases. Conclusion: The results of our study confirm previously published data that found an
incidence of thyroid dysfunction in IBD 14% to 37%.

Vascular filling is one of the first therapeutics used for acute circulatory failure, whether in the
emergency department or in intensive care units. Its effect involves an increase in cardiac preload
leading to an increase in systolic ejection volume and cardiac output. This vascular filling uses
solutes whose first expected effect is volume expansion. However, all filling solutes have associated
or metabolic effects. These may be favorable effects such as the normalization of lactic acidosis or
renal insufficiency induced by hypovolemia. These include adverse effects such as hyponatremia
induced by hypotonic solutes, disorders of acid-base balance such as hyperchloremic acidosis, and
effects related to buffer solutions associated with solutes (lactate, acetate).

Anesthesia of the extraction of foreign bodies from the upper airways:
Anesthetic procedures for the extraction of foreign bodies inhaled
</ArtTitle><PubName>Scientia Research Library</PubName><JournalName>Journal of Applied Science And Research</JournalName><EISSN>2348 - 0416</EISSN><year>2017</year><volume>5</volume><issue>4</issue><AuthorName>

Inhalation of foreign body is a major cause of death by domestic accidents among children, mostly
among those under three years old. Asphyxia is the main immediate risk. Respiratory effects may
occur if the extraction time is extended .the seriousness of this incident has been significantly
reduced due to advances in instrumentation and anesthesia. The prupose of this study was to
investigate the epidemiological criteria, clinical, paraclinical, therapeutic, and anesthetic
procedures for the extraction of foreign bodies inhaled at the University Hospital of Children
ABDERRAHIM Harouchi in Casablanca. This is a retrospective study in Pediatric Resuscitation
service during the years 2015-2016 , and which permitted the recruitment of 42 cases of foreign
body extracts under general anesthesia, let an incidence equal to 3,66%. The foreign body of the
airways was frequent between 6 months and 3 years old children (73,80%). The diagnosis was
based on the research of penetration syndrome that was present in 88,09% of the cases. The thorax
radiography was normal in 50% of the cases and the foreign body was radio-opaque in 11,90% of
the cases. The choice treatment was the extraction of the foreign body by rigid bronchoscopy under
general anesthesia although it is as difficult and risky one. The operation may know severe
complications: hypoxemia by hypoventilation, laryngospasm, bronchospasm and disorders of
cardiac rhythm in particular, that the anesthesia is partially the origin.Accurate preoperative
evaluation of the patient was necessary. The anesthesic management was classic that the best is the
use of intravenous products with short delay and duration of action (Propofol, succinylcholine). The
ventilation was manually assisted for all the patients. A careful respiratory supervision during the
waking up was obligatory. The nature of the foreign body was dominated by peanuts (32,6%) with
predominance of bronchial localization (71,74%). Finally, we must insist on the diagnosis and the
precocious extraction of a foreign body in order to avoid in the long term aftereffects. We must also
reinforce the prevention and the education of the parents, by training them into Heimlichs exercise,
to ensure proper vigilance and obviously a reduction in the incidence of this serious accident.

Lead is a heavy metal that affects the health, one of them are male reproductive organ. Lead
exposure leads to the formation of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) and decreases antioxidant
reserves in the body. Lead toxicity in male reproductive system can be prevented with antioxidants.
Dayak onion is a potential plant as a source of natural antioxidants. The aim of this study was to
determine the potential of dayak onion ethanol extract to maintain testosterone level, diameter and
thickness of seminiferous tubules in mice induced with lead acetate. The type of this study was
purely experimental laboratory (true experimental) study with Posttest Only Control Group design.
Subjects of the study were 30 male (Mus musculus) mice of Balb/C strains induced with lead acetate
of 0.75 mg/KgBW/day and divided into 5 treatment groups, negative control group (K0), positive
control group (K1), and treatment groups that received dayakonion extracts of 30 mg/KgBW/day
	(K2), 60 mg/KgBW/day (K3), and 120 mg/KgBW/day (K4). On day 39, the mice were sacrificed for
measuring testosterone level, diameter and thickness of seminiferous tubule epithelium. Results
showed significant differences in the levels of testosterone hormone in groups K0 with K1, K1 with
K2 and K3. There was an increase in diameter of the seminiferous tubules of groups K2, K3, K4
compared to K1. Significant differences were obtained in the thickness of seminiferous tubular
epithelium between groups K0 with K1, K1 with K2, K3, K4. In conclusion, dayakonion ethanol
extracts are capable of maintaining testosterone and thickness of the seminiferous tubule
epithelium, but are unable to maintain the diameter of the seminiferous tubules induced lead acetate

As per WHO health is a state of complete physical, mental, social spiritual well-being. Not
merely absence of disease infirmity. Our Mental health plays very vital role in our overall
health but still it is neglected the most. Mental health problems which a new mother can experience
in post natal period are the same as those, that can affect other people at any point of time, and they
are often similar in nature. However mental health problems in new mothers are particularly
important to identify manage because of the fact that this problems often are not disclosed,
recognized or treated during postnatal period.

The term depression commonly refers to a down turn in mood which may be relatively transitory
and perhaps due to something trivial. Depression is widespread with at least 16% of patients
receiving care in a primary care setting and a higher percentage in hospitals and nursing homes.
Music is an age-oil part of Ayurveda, the holistic Indian science that promotes a happy and healthy
life style. Music with specific ragas plays a vital role in reducing the level of depression. Objectives:
1.To assess the level of depression among institutionalized senior citizens in selected old age homes
before music therapy. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy in terms of reducing
depression among institutionalized senior citizens. 3. To determine the level of depression among
institutionalized senior citizens after music therapy in relation to selected demographic variables.
Method: Quasi experimental two group pre-test and post-test design was adopted for the study.
Samples for this study were 40 senior citizens both male and female from Inba Illam and the
geriatric care unit of the Christian mission hospital. Stratified random sampling technique was used
to select the sample. Data collection was done by using the rating scale developed by the
investigator. Results: The findings revealed that there was a significant difference between the pretest
and post-test level of depression. The obtained mean difference between the pre-test and posttest
depression was 18.85. There was a significant reduction in the depression score among the
senior citizens after music therapy 52.55(SD7.9) t=2.02 (P0.05). Conclusion: Music therapy
was effective in reducing the level of depression among institutionalized senior citizens.

Restless legs syndrome, also known as Willis-Ekbom disease, is a common condition of the nervous
system that causes an overwhelming, irresistible urge to move the legs. The symptoms typically
occur while sitting or lying down. It generally worsens with age and can disrupt sleep. The main
symptom is a nearly irresistible urge to move the legs. The sensations in the legs include aching
throbbing, pulling, itching, crawling, or creeping. Based on cause it may be primary or secondary.
When the cause is not known it is classified as primary and if the condition occurs as a result of
preexisting disease conditions like iron deficiency anemia, chronic kidney disease, diabetes etc. it is
classified as secondary. Obesity, stress, excessive intake of caffeine, intake of medications like
antidepressants, antipsychotics, lithium etc may act as triggers. While the cause is not known in
most of the cases, a genetic predisposition is found in many cases. The diagnosis is based on the
presence of symptoms like an urge to move the limbs with or without sensations, improvement with
activity, worsening at rest and worsening in the evening or night. Treatment includes solving the
underlying problem, lifestyle changes like stopping alcohol and tobacco, and sleep hygiene and
medications like levodopa or a dopamine agonist. The associated comorbidities are cardiovascular
	diseases, sleep apnea and ADHD.

Gamma Knife Radiation surgery is an alternative to traditional brain surgery and whole brain
radiation therapy for the treatment of complex, difficult brain conditions. It is a non-invasive
stereotactic radiosurgery instrument that involves no scalpel or incision its not a knife at all.
Instead, the Gamma Knife uses up to 201 precisely focused beams of radiation to control malignant
and non-malignanttumors, as well as vascular and functional disorders in the brain, without
harming surrounding healthy tissue. It is done as an ambulatory procedure and patients can regain
back to their normal routines soon after treatment.
